1. Treatment of your Personal Data

Your Personal Data is processed by DrivOlution. (hereafter "we", "us" or "our") as data controller:

The data are also shared with :

  • DRIVEQUANT SAS, publisher of the mobile application solution with a capital of 1 200 000 Euros, registered at the Registre du Commerce et des Sociétés de Paris under the number 827 527 817, whose head office is located at 34 boulevard des italiens, 75009 Paris - is qualified as a technical subcontractor.

No data is transferred outside the European Union, the services are integrated on the servers of a Hosting Company in France: OVH.

 

2. What types of Personal Data do we process?

We do not collect any sensitive data concerning Users such as racial or ethnic origins, political, philosophical or religious opinions, as well as any data relating to trade union membership, health or sex life.

By using our DRIVE COACH by DrivOlution Application, you are required to provide us with information, some of which is of a personally identifiable nature ("Personal Data"). This is particularly the case when you fill in forms (such as the registration form), when you contact us - whether by telephone, email or any other means of communication - or when you tell us about a problem.

Only the data strictly necessary for the proper functioning of the application are collected. 

The Personal Data we process includes the following personal information:

  • First Name: necessary to create your account,
  • Last Name: necessary to create your account,
  • E-mail address: necessary to create your account,
  • Pseudo: necessary to participate in the challenges,
  • Motorized vehicle trips: necessary to calculate your driving scores.

In order to detect and analyse a vehicle's trips, the application uses the background location. The app processes the speed and heading to compute driving indicators. In addition, we process Personal Data about your driving habits and your use of the services, such as:

  • Safety score data such as acceleration/braking events or adherence loss events detected during your motorized trips in order to calculate it,
  • Driver distraction data: i.e. how you interact with your smartphone (screen unlock / use) during your motorized trips in order to calculate the distraction score,
  • Eco-driving score data: calculated from acceleration, speed maintain or deceleration detected during your motorized trips in order to calculate the eco-driving score,
  • Driving advice given to you following your trips to enable you to improve your driving,
  • Your potential participation in one or more driving challenges in order to provide the resulting gains,

 

3. For what purpose will your Personal Data be processed?

By sharing your Personal Data with DrivOlution (hereinafter "we", "us" or "our"), you will be able to:

  • Register and access the Mobile Application,
  • Benefit from driver-focused services (safety score, eco-driving score, distraction score) that can lead to driving advice and trips notifications,
  • Access challenges/obtain badges,
  • Enable us to manage the Mobile Application and the challenges in the app.
NB. At any time, you can disable the sending of notifications in your smartphone settings.

As part of the use of our Services, some of your Data will be transmitted to other Users of the Mobile Application. For example, as part of the challenges, all Users will have access to the score and nickname of other registered users.

We undertake not to sell any of your data.

 

4. How long do we keep your Personal Data?

Your personal data will be kept for a maximum of 2 years from the date of the last use of the app.

 

5. Legal compliance and security

We may be required - by law, court proceedings, litigation and/or a request from public or governmental authorities in or outside your country of residence - to disclose your Personal Data. We may also disclose your personal information if we are required to do so for national security, public order or other matters of public interest, where such disclosure is necessary and appropriate. If legislation permits, we will notify you in advance of the transfer of your data.

We may also disclose personal information if we believe, in good faith, that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect our rights and remedies, to enforce our terms and conditions, to investigate a case of fraud or to protect our operations or users.

 

6. What are your rights?

In the context of the above-mentioned processing operations, you have the right to request access to your Personal Data in a standard structured format, modification and deletion of your data. In addition, you have the right to object to the processing of your Personal Data or to request a restriction on such processing. Finally, you can request to receive your personal data in a standard format.

If you have any queries or complaints about the way in which DrivOlution processes your personal data, please send an email to appsupport@drivolution.be.

In any case, you also have the right to file a complaint with the competent data protection authority.

 

7. Changes of our Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy in accordance with our legal obligations. You should check this page regularly for any changes or updates to this document
